Bagel shops come and go, but Star Bagel is still here. They really should be on great bagels lists, but one never sees them mentioned. There is no comparison to New York bagels; these are San Francisco bagels. So why compare? These are chewy inside with a nice crust on the outside. They have a great variety of flavors. I usually choose raisin and everything. Don't miss the pastries on the left; they look great. However, I opt for the bagels each time. Next visit! The shop offers many flavors of cream cheese; strawberry is delicious. Egg and cheese on a bagel is on my list to try. Besides the bagels, the stars are the people who work there. They are very nice, and efficient. This is a hidden gem; do not be deterred by the exterior. Try a star bagel!

Friends of ours went to place the order while my bf and i stayed to watch the car since we were double parked and lazy so the rating is for the food. Quality was great, fast and tasty! 3 of us got a breakfast plain bagel with not just one but two eggs! Cheese and sausage with the bagels crispy i forgot what my other friend got but no complaints from any of us and we finished every last bite!
This tiny bagel joint is a tale of two extremes. The guy behind the counter is a service legend - efficient, smiling, and downright stellar. I'd give him extra stars if I could. Now, onto the bagel, and I use that term loosely. Being a New Yorker, I had my hopes high, but this sorry excuse for a bagel shattered every expectation. It's a bagel in name only - no chew, no crust. It's a bagel tragedy. To add insult to injury, the guy decided to season the cheese with salt and pepper instead of the egg. A service virtuoso in a bagel nightmare, earning it five stars solely for the incredible guy at the counter.
